Tropical storm gets a name

Guam - Tropical Storm 03W has been named Sanvu. According to the National Weather Service the center of Tropical Storm Sanvu is located 70 miles west-southwest of Guam. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Guam and Rota. The storm is still moving northwest at 9 miles per hour and is expected to maintain this course and speed over the next 12 hours. According to NWS maximum sustained winds have picked up to 45 miles per hour. Damaging winds are possible in squalls through the evening hours on Guam and Rota. Peak winds of 35 to 45 miles per hour are possible with gusts as high as 50mph in heavy showers. NWS will issue another advisory at 5:00pm.
