Guam - Military buildup chair Senator Judi Guthertz reacted to Saturday's passing of the National Defense Authorization Act saying it now has to go to the Senate and then the Conference Committee between the House and the Senate.
She said, "I'm hoping that this time around, the Senate will be more reasonable and that the Department of Defense satisfies all the requirements that were set out by the senate to keep this moving."
She says this process signifies beginning a more aggressive approach on construction projects in preparation for the buildup on Guam. The House passed FY13 NDAA leaves intact approximately $101 million in milcon projects for Guam as well as an additional $128 million for the Guam strike fuel cell maintenance hangar.
