Guam - Wednesday was Island Leadership Day, where students in private and public schools traded places with a government official for the day. KUAM News caught up with St. John's School freshman Andrew Sulla-Matthews serving as governor, who said, "I've learned that there's a lot more to being governor than just thinking about what to do and giving people orders."
And Takayoshi Mori who met with Public Health officials while serving as a DOE deputy superintendent. He said, "We discussed what they were thinking was to take nurses from our school and bring them to Public Health, but it wouldn't be good for the school because we won't have anyone to take care of us if we are hurt or sick. So I think it would be better if the nurses from Public Health come to us."
The Department of Youth Affairs coordinated the annual island event. Other youth leaders include senators, mayors, judges, GovGuam directors and other top leadership positions.
