Guam - The Guam Election Commission's legal counsel has completed his review of an initiative to legalize bingo only at the Guam Greyhound Park. Last Friday the Guam-Japan Friendship Village filed the initiative seeking to put the issue up for a vote in the November general election.
Attorney Jeff Moots tells KUAM News he completed the review of the initiative to ensure that there were no unrelated matters included in it. Moots also completed a summary of the initiative for the GEC board's approval. Once that happens, the Commission will make petitions with the summary, giving the Guam-Japan Friendship Village 120 days to obtain the necessary number of signatures to get the initiative on the November ballot.
The GEC board is scheduled to meet next week Wednesday at 4pm to review the summary and determine just how many signatures the proponents will need to obtain.
