Guam - Homeland Security grant funding allowed the Guam Fire Department to purchase new masks that firefighters use when entering a burning structure. GFD spokesperson Lt. Ed Artero says this is the first time each firefighter will have their own mask.

Due to a lack of funding, in the past, personnel had to share the equipment. "It increases the morale of every firefighter knowing that they have their own personal equipment to add to their ensemble and it makes them have a better capacity to do their job," he said.

Safety First conducted the quantative fit testing today at the Tamuning Fire Station to ensure the mask properly fits each firefighter.
