Tenorio declares Safe Boating Week

Guam is surrounded by the most beautiful waters in the world and Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio signed a proclamation in order to ensure safety for the people while they're out in our oceans.

Guam - Guam is surrounded by the most beautiful waters in the world and Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio signed a proclamation in order to ensure safety for the people while they're out in our oceans. He proclaimed the week of May 21-28 as Safe Boating Week to raise awareness and teach safe boating practices in order to save lives and prevent accidents.

The U.S. Coast Guard, the Guam Police Department, Guam Fisherman's Co-Op and the National Weather Service were on hand for the signing with several activities set for this month including a boat safety display at the Micronesia Mall, free vessel safety checks at the Agat Marina, the Merizo Pier and the Agana Boat Basin and a fleet blessing.
