Guam - Consider yourself warned. The Guam Fire Department will be launching its citation program later this month.  GFD spokesperson Lieutenant Ed Artero says personnel will begin by issuing citations to those who are parked illegally by fire hydrants and for those caught burning illegally without the necessary permits.

"Every fire station will have certain personnel that are going to be given the opportunity and requirement to undergo and implement those violations," he said.

Artero says the department is also in the process of updating its fee schedule to bring it in accordance with the International Building Fire Code that was passed into law last year.  The current fees reference the previously used Uniform Fire Code.  He adds the department would like to increase its fee schedule, but doing so would require legislative approval.
