Guam - The Port Authority of Guam has received indications that the Maritime Administration is finished with its waterfront studies.  The agency had requested that MARAD approve the use of federal money to pay for a service life extension to the wharf, but MARAD wants a complete overhaul which would cost upwards of $200 million.

Because of the disagreement, the agency is in the process of procuring a $15 million loan to start the repairs themselves. Officials say once they are able to review the report, they may go back to MARAD again with their funding request.
