Guam - Liberation Day festivities are right around the corner, but casino operations cannot take off until the Department of Public Works and the Guam Fire Department sign off on the casino structure. According to DPW deputy director Carl Dominguez, his staff is set for inspection this week. Dominguez says prior years only required the structure's electrical systems to be inspected but after KUAM's inquiry, this will be the first year the casino will require occupancy permits.

The Liberation Day Carnival is set for opening June 2.
