Guam - Making miracles happen. The Guam Memorial Hospital staff can attest to that as the one thousand employees are being recognized during Hospital Week. Whether it's helping deliver babies to treating ill patients and saving lives, the employees of the hospital provide care every single day of the year.

Acting nursing administrator Christine Tuquero says officials will also recognize the dedication and hard work of nearly 500 nurses and support staff on Nurses Day on Friday. "I'm happy to recognize the hard work that they do 24/7 they work above and beyond than they require. They volunteer to work when we're short and a lot of it is patient care bed side we provide a lot of nursing care to make sure patients do get better," she said.

A number of employees were recognized and presented awards today as well as hospital volunteers -honored for the important role the staff plays in caring for patients and the community.
