Guam - The Guam Economic Development Authority's lawsuit against John Laing and the Guam Motion Picture Company never made it to trial because the parties have been in settlement talks. During a status hearing this morning in the Superior Court, it was revealed that a settlement is in the works.
GEDA filed suit after Laing failed to repay an $800,000 loan guaranty for the blockbuster flop "Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon". Judge Michael Bordallo has given the parties until June 18 to file the settlement for the court's approval.
KUAM News attempted to find out if laing has paid back any portion of the loan guaranty, but we were told the matter is part of executive session discussions when the GEDA board meets this Friday.
