Guam - The casino structure at the Liberation Carnival site may have been erected, but it seems there are concerns from the sports community about its placement. The casino was built on the parking lot of the Tiyan Softball Field.

Department of Parks and Recreations director Pete Calvo says he is working to resolve the issue as he forwarded the concerns to the Mayor's Council of Guam. He said, "I believe there was a concern with the Barrigada Mayor's Office, who has been using the facility for their little league program however the field itself is not being used, its just the parking lot area and we hope they can work together in order to provide for the youth as well as the carnival."

In the meantime, Calvo says the Guam National Guard will assist in further clearing the vegetation from the area, as carnival preparations continue.
