Guam - The Guam Police Department is impacted by officers who are on deployment. Currently before the governor are two bills introduced by Senator Adolpho Palacios that he believes will help GPD with the shortage in manpower.

"It's a very bill its one that increases the authority of the chief of police in utilizing the cape volunteers for other duties like traffic control crowd control for liberation and reserves to be able to fill in when active member is deployed and there's money there you can actually use the reserve and be paid the po1 position," the senator said.

Funding for these two volunteer service programs have been included in GPD's next fiscal year budget.
