Guam - Ground was broken this morning on Phase I of a new combined support maintenance shop at the Guard Readiness Center in Barrigada.  The $16.8 million project will allow for the repair of vehicles and equipment in the Guam Army National Guard inventory as well as offer a maintenance area for vehicles, electronics and other equipment.  NAVFAC Marianas awarded the contract to Bulltrack-Watts, LLC. Commanding officer Captain John Heckmann.

"We're gonna deliver a quality project for the Guam National Guard because it's very important that they get the building they need for their mission so general I'd like to report to you that we are ready to begin this project," said Heckmann.

The 17,000 square foot facility will also include maintenance and storage bays, office areas, classrooms and a break room. The project is expected to be completed in April of next year.
