Guam - Public Safety Committee chair Senator Adolpho Palacios is calling on the recently-empanelled Police Review Commission to organize its first official meeting. Governor Eddie Calvo appointed member Renee Lujan as the Commission's interim chairperson. She says the first order of business is to appoint a permanent chair.

Retired police colonel Joaquin Torre was also appointed to the Commission by the Legislature. Lujan says they are ready to begin the process of restoring the community's trust in the police department. "Because there is no agenda, nothing's been brought forth to the commission, so we haven't received any information in regards to any cases rest assure however that whatever cases may be brought up to the commission that we will do our best to make sure that we handle it accordingly," he said.

A case the Commission may investigate involves a domestic dispute between a police officer and a police captain in Windward Hills last month. The matter is the subject of an ongoing internal investigation.
