Guam - Following Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's letter to the U.S. Attorney Eric Holder requesting they review the election irregularities during the 2010 General Election, Governor Eddie Calvo today reiterated his stance, saying it's an act of desperation because the legal resources of his former Democratic opponent, Carl Gutierrez, seems to be falling apart.
"On one hand, you see the plaintiff without an attorney and a running mate, then on the other hand, it appears every elected democratic official is falling in line with a case that seems to be falling apart 1025 but be that as it may, this administration can't afford to dwell on it there's just too many issues affecting this community," said Calvo.
He wished that the letter to the U.S. Attorney should instead focus on unfairness to compensation for Compact impacts, the Earned Income Tax Credit and other unfunded mandates rather than about this "frivolous lawsuit". The Legislature meanwhile has yet to discuss his revised Election Reform Bill, which includes the audit of the 2010 election.
