GEC working with NMI election commission
Guam - An election reform law may not have been enacted yet, but the Guam Election Commission is working to ensure the September primary is on track. The GEC is working with the CNMI Election Commission to improve elections on all the islands specifically registration issues.
CNMI Election Commission executive director Robert Guerrero said, "Some people live here, we discovered in the 2010 election that have people voting on here, people voting on Saipan and CNMI at the same time, so we're trying to narrow that down so that thing doesn't occur again and they'll be registered in one location."
As for financial disclosure reports, all elected officials or agency heads have either filed or have requested for an extension. However of the over 200 boards and commission members required to file a conflict of interest statement, 20 have yet to do so. Pangelinan is working with those people as they were only told recently that they had to file or weren't even aware of the requirement.
