With the annual Relay for Life about 21 days away, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio put pen to paper, declaring May as "Relay for Life" month.
During a proclamation ceremony held Wednesday evening at the Westin Resort Guam, Maga'haga Leon Guerrero acknowledged the overwhelming amount of support from community for American Cancer Society of Guam's biggest fundraiser.
"The testimony here is that cancer really affects everybody," she said. "We either are experiencing cancer or we know of someone that has cancer, or we had loved ones that have died of cancer, and it's really affected each of us in a very personal way."
This year's theme for Relay for Life is, "Once Upon a Time" and it takes place Friday, May 24 to the 25 from 6 p.m.- 12:01 a.m. at the George Washington High School track.
