Missing fisherman rescued

Guam - It was a successful rescue mission, as missing fisherman Yi Hong Ji was found in the open ocean and hoisted to safety. The Coast Guard, Guam Fire and the Navy launched the rescue mission Monday after Ji called 911 for help. He left from Tanguisson beach on his jet ski to go fishing between Guam and Rota. According to Coast Guard Sector Guam Commander Captain Casey White, this successful case exemplifies the importance of our search and rescue partnerships across the island.

Ji was transported to Naval Hospital in stable condition.
