Performers sought for Liberation Carnival

Guam - The Mayors Council of Guam is looking for local artists and cultural performers to participate in this year's Liberation Carnival. The event will be held in Tiyan. Sinajana Vice Mayor Robert Hofmann says the procurement process to secure the fireworks is nearly complete.
The mayors have a $15,000 budget to purchase fireworks for the 4th of July, and another $15,000 to get fireworks for Liberation Day. "Better fire display because there is a difference between commercial and consumer fireworks, we are using acceptable of consumer fireworks because commercial is very expensive and we are trying to piece together a show that really pays tribute to the theme and does justice to the celebration," he said.
This year's theme is "Imagine Guam". If you would like to participate, contact the MCOG office in Hagatna.
