Guam - The Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission finally adopted the rules and regulations that have been in the works for several years. Guam Community College president Mary Okada says a public hearing will be scheduled for a later date to allow the community an opportunity to comment.

She explained the importance of the POST rules and regs, saying, "It identified how the Commission will establish the base line for certain peace officer training, it identifies what is unique to each organization and how the commission will accept reciprocity from other jurisdictions and outlines how post will conduct training standards."

Okada says the public hearing may be held within the next 30 days.
