Gebhart released, cannot have contact with minors
by Nick Delgado
Guam - Christopher John Gebhart has been released to a third-party custodian and is not allowed to have any contact with any minors. Gebhart was recently indicted for failing to register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty to 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, admitting to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at the Guam Memorial Hospital back in 2005. He was sentenced to five years in prison with three years suspended and was released from jail in July of last year when he was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Gebhart was also facing aggravated murder charges for the 2009 death of a 1-year-old girl who he allegedly abused so badly that she went into a coma. He was released from jail because prosecutors failed to present evidence of child abuse to substantiate the criminal charges. Gebhart must remain at home at night time and be in the presence of his third party custodian when he is not at home.
He is scheduled to appear back in court on May 30.
