Guam - The bids have been opened and on Wednesday the Mayors Council will announce the winners of the various concessions for the 2012 Liberation Carnival. Mayors Council executive director Angel Sablan says they are finalizing everything but they have selected the winning bids for the casino concessionaire, the games of chance, as well as food and snacks.

While Sablan wouldn't disclose what non-profit organization won the casino bid, he did confirm that the bid was $306,000 - $6,000 more than last year's winning casino bidder that was tied with Guma Mami. As we reported the Liberation Carnival will be held in Tiyan this year due to the ongoing construction projects in Hagatna.  Construction will begin next month with the carnival to open in June and run through the first week of August.
