DOA pays $1M to Judiciary on Friday

Guam - While the numbers are still being tallied and discussion continues on how officials arrived at those figures, the Judiciary received another $1 million last Friday. The Department of Administration last week said it was $1.4 million ahead in paying the Judiciary's allotments.
Chief policy advisor Arthur Clark says last Friday's payment was at the request of the courts that continue to maintain they are owed money. He said, "So it was really a discussion relative to taking into consideration there cash flow situation of what they need as opposed to what the law says, we think we're still ahead as far as what the law self requires. Now, you have to remember is that the law requires a percentage based upon cash flow and actual cash income."
Clark says DOA still believes they are $800,000 ahead in paying what is due to the Judiciary, adding the money paid last Friday would have been due later this month. The Judiciary recently put the government on notice, threatening litigation, if the courts' allotments weren't paid.
