Homeland Security accepting public comments
Guam - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a notice that it is reopening its public comment period for the Guam-CNMI visa waiver. According to a notice posted on the Federal Register, starting last Friday Customs and Border Protection began accepting comments and will continue to do so until May 29.
Governor's chief policy advisor Arthur Clark said, "Anytime they're asking for the public to comment or anyone to offer comment, it means that they're interested in pursuing action - again, better that they're interested in pursuing action than interesting in non-action - so I think that's just prudent for them to try and get as many comments as they can for the federal government side to come up with a plan of action or decisions."
Guam is hoping DHS will approve its request for china to be included in our visitor parole program. DHS just this year granted the inclusion of Russia.
