Guam - April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The theme is "It's Time, To Talk About It! Connect. Respect. Prevent Sexual Violence". In observance of the annual event, awards are given to several individuals across the nation highlighting their outstanding work in preventing these crimes and making a significant impact in their community. Guam's own Annparo Rios has been selected by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center as one of the 20 Visionary Voice Award winners.

Rios is a registered nurse at the Department of Mental Health. She is the only certified sexual assault nurse examiner for adults, adolescents and pediatrics on Guam.
