Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo has signed on as a cosponsor of H.R. 4271, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2012. The bill was introduced by Congresswoman Gwen Moore of Wisconsin. The measure proposes to strengthen the ability of the federal government, states, law enforcement, and service providers to combat domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Bordallo states, "All Americans are entitled to feel safe in their workplace, in their homes, and walking on the street. Yet too many women continue to live in fear. And that is why we must reauthorize and strengthen the Violence Against Women Act.The original passage of the Violence Against Women Act was a watershed moment and a bipartisan victory. I will continue to support this legislation to make further progress in protecting women and children on Guam, and across the country."
