Guam - Two years after the tragic murder in Yona, today the three men responsible for the death of Vince Peredo were sentenced in the Superior Court of Guam. Moments before Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena read their life sentences - Zared Lizama, Derrick Cruz and Cal-Jerome Delorie apologized to the Peredo family.

"I don't understand everything and how hard it is, and I feel pretty terrible how I left things," stated Lizama, with Cruz adding, "I am truly sorry for the grief and pain I've caused you all, and I'm sorry you're suffering from your loss." Delorie noted, "Everyone makes mistakes and I chose wrong. For everyday I will suffer, my family will suffer with me and I am sorry for that."

"Never again will Christmas be the same, that was his favorite holiday," said the late Peredo's mother, Linda. "I hope and pray that another mother will never have to experience the pain I went through."

In March 2010 the three entered Vince Peredo's home, beat him, left him to die and stole garbage bags filled with  marijuana. Linda Peredo continued, "It's very difficult for me and everyday the memory of how he died is unbearable and frustrating as I am the mother."

Two years after her son's horrific murder, and the wounds from that day remain open. "The horrendous way my son was killed will forever leave an impact and scar on my family and his three children forever, I hope they will never ever be let out of prison for fear the same crime be repeated," she said.

Delorie's life sentence comes with the possibility of parole after 15 years, while Cruz and Lizama's life sentences are with a possibility of parole after 25 years. Judge Lamorena told the trio they will never get the opportunity to live a normal life, as the crimes they've committed cannot and never will be tolerated by the community. He set a restitution hearing for a later date.

Linda Peredo said simply, "I miss my son. I miss my son."
