Guam - Port general manager Mary Torres provided the Guam Chamber of Commerce an update on the Port Modernization Program and they continue to wait word from the Maritime Administration regarding their $15 million request needed for the waterfront repairs and extending the service life of its wharf for another decade.

"I had the impression of things being really dead in the water and what I found instead was an agency that truly has a vision that has had to go full steam with something with a project and a mandate and not be a chokepoint with the military buildup, then we're forced to stop dead in our tracks because things weren't progressing the way they were," she said.
