Guam - James Song is fighting the federal government's efforts to take $47,000 thousand dollars in cash that was found in his possession when he landed in Hawaii last year. According to a motion to dismiss that was filed by Song's defense attorney, Randy Cunliffe, the defense argues that the complaint fails to state the circumstances to support the claim that the money found on song indeed were drug proceeds.
The feds have alleged that the money was intended for the purchase of crystal methamphetamine in California and that Song was a drug courier. The defense has asked the federal government to amend their complaint within ten days, and if not, for the court dismiss to the matter with prejudice.
