Guam - If the Department of Administration can't stand the working conditions at its current Hagatna offices, then the agency should move out. Those are the sentiments of Senator Rory Respicio who says DOA isn't paying a single penny to the Legislature that owns the building. The office is molding and staff are left to deal with flooding when it rains.

"DOA is not forced to stay at that building that is in the inventory of the Guam Legislature but they don't pay a single penny towards rent so we could use money to maintain that very old building," he said.  "If they need to move then the governor needs to move them and they have the statutory mechanisms to put out an invitation for bid."

DOA director Benita Manglona has suggested lawmakers amend the law that allows for the lease of the CoreTech facility in Tiyan for educational purposes and allow DOA to move in to the three vacant buildings. Senator Respicio meanwhile says the long-term plan for the current Hagatna building is to level it and put senatorial offices there.
