Guam - Liberation Day festivities are fast approaching and according to Sinajana vice mayor Robert Hoffman, it has yet to be determined what entertainment the Mayors Council of Guam will bring in to help with the celebrations.

"We're actively looking right now and sent letters of interest to the booking agents who handle the artists," he said. "We've been getting a lot of people saying bring this person in or bring that person in; we're exploring all our options right now, but we are looking to bring in at least someone who's pretty known. We want mass appeal but we know we're never going to get that, but we're looking forward to having a great liberation."

Last year's entertainers were Hawaiian music group Kalapana. Hoffman says the carnival is also in need of local nightly performers. To sign up, call 472-6707.

Meanwhile, the carnival this year will be held in Tiyan.
