Judiciary seeks nominees for Hustitia Award
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - The Judiciary of Guam is seeking nominations for the prestigious Hustisia Award. Every year, during Law Week festivities in May, the island's court system presents the award to honor and recognize an individual or an organization that has contributed to improving the administration of justice and good government.
The committee considers whether the nominee has fostered building public support for the Judiciary, promoted respect for the law and understanding of the judicial system, encouraged civic responsibility and service, and volunteered time and talents to the court in serving the people of Guam.
Nominations should include a statement about the nominee of no more than 250 words.
Previous recipients have included retired justice Janet Healy Weeks and the late judge Cristobal C. Duenas. Nominations are being accepted through April 13 and can be submitted to the Guam Supreme Court.
