Guam - It's been almost a month since the Mayors Council of Guam assumed the responsibility of the island's senior centers. According to Mayors Council of Guam executive director Angel Sablan, more manamko' are using the centers than before. "They haven't closed since we've taken over on March 1 and reports we're getting in is that in fact more seniors are attending the programs at the senior centers than before," he said.

Site managers for the centers have been identified and processed. The MCOG is waiting for the results of drug tests before moving forward. Sinajana vice mayor Robert Hoffman adds that fifteen of the original GGARP staff are expected to resume their positions, but this time as GovGuam employees.
