Guam - The Guam Memorial Hospital's Board of Trustees voted to reinstate a direct payer agreement with TakeCare Insurance. The agreement was to be terminated next Tuesday leaving TakeCare's 30,000 members as self pay patients.

However, after weeks of negotiating the hospital management and the insurance provider were able to reach an agreement. Details of the agreement were not spelled out at the board meeting as the decision was made following executive session.

The hospital had taken issue with the denial rate of the provider and its payment practices.
