Guam - The Guam Shipyard has submitted its proposal to enter into a long-term lease for 49 acres of the former Ship Repair Facility. Guam Economic Development Authority real property division manager Larry Toves says the agency is still trying to continue with the same arrangement it has had with the Navy for the property.

GEDA has been leasing the facility and subleasing it to the Guam Shipyard. The leases expire at the end of September, when the Navy intends to begin the new long-term lease that could extend up to 40 years.  Proposals must be submitted to NAVFAC Marianas in Hawaii by noon tomorrow Guam time.
