Guam - Economic development, tourism, healthcare and water resources were just some of the topics discussed during the second and final day of the Micronesian Chief Executives Summit today at the Sheraton. CNMI governor Benigno Fitial and Guam governor Eddie Calvo both hoped to continue to collaborate with the neighboring islands in order to address issues affecting Micronesia.
Fitial said, "The economy sucks. So like Governor Calvo said early this morning, we are very rich in history but we are broke - so that is why we're getting together to collaborate together so we can bring back wealth into our history." Calvo added, "I just believe there are so much opportunities for our people for this region if we can just work together and I feel good about the tone of this summit and I believe there will be a major spill over fro advancement for all of our peoples in the Pacific ."
