Guam - The Hire Local Regional Workforce Conference went mobile, holding its second day at the Ukudu Workforce Village where guest speakers included UOG president Dr. Robert Underwood and Guam Regional Medical City's Margaret Bengzon discussing both career path developments and opportunities for human resources in health on Guam and Micronesia.

Just as yesterday focused more on job opportunities from the military buildup and training necessary for the workforce, today's discussion focused more on employers building their labor force along with human resources issues within the workplace. Society of Human Resources Management Guam Chapter president Grace Donaldson says the conference was a success because it featured a cross section of people attending not just HR professionals but presidents, general managers and CEOs from various industries.

"I think it's been a very good progression, we talked about what is expected to happen and now because HR is very much tied in with whatever is happening with the market," said Donaldson. "It's been a terrific flow because now we're talking about HR issues because every time you have employees, you're going to have human resources issues."

The conference wrapped up this afternoon.
