Guam - The University of Guam was bustling with action and music today as the institution of higher learning celebrated Charter Day. UOG is celebrating the 44th year of its charter and 60 years in existence on Guam.  More than 13,000 students have graduated from the university and 3,500 are from around Micronesia.

UOG president Dr. Robert Underwood says the institution wants to be ready for the next 60 years. In the next decade, Underwood expects UOG will have as many as 10,000 - 5,000 on campus and 5,000 over the air. "We're technologically getting geared up for that. We're responding to that by building new programs in engineering and building some new facilities that are worthy of the 21st Century campus and students," he promised.
