Guam - The director of the Army National Guard Lt. General William Ingram, Jr. spent the past two days on Guam meeting with island leaders as well as Guam's National Guard unit. Ingram has been in the position for the past one hundred days. While he says the Guam National Guard's major deployment next year is still on track, he also admits the National Guard will have to learn how to complete the mission with fewer resources.
"We are moving into an era of diminishing resources for the entire military, we've had some fairly significant budget challenges and cuts that are coming up and they are going to be implemented a little bit in this fiscal year and a lot in the succeeding five ears," he said.
He adds though the National Guard is a tremendous part of the military that already cost less to operate. The former adjutant general of North Carolina's next stop is Hawaii.
