Guam - He's created some of the greatest movies of all time, but the man behind blockbusters such as Avatar, Titanic and The Terminator, James Cameron, will be embarking on his own personal journey of a lifetime. Cameron has teamed up with National Geographic and Rolex for The Deep Sea Challenge Project.

The filmmaker, avid diver and national geographic explorer will be bringing a crew of engineers and scientists as he attempts to dive into in the Marianas Trench, the deepest point in the ocean. It is as deep as Mount Everest is high.

He will be doing this in a custom build submersible that he co-designed. Cameron will be filing a documentary and will collect samples for historic research. Cameron and his crew are expected to be on Guam next week.
