Guam - In the next couple of weeks, more concrete details should be available regarding the administration plans for more cuts within the government. On Monday Acting Governor Ray Tenorio stated the Administration is preparing a second round of cuts and revenue enhancements stressing the need to pay down the deficit and pay off tax refunds.
Governor's chief of staff Frank Arriola said, "Based on the reports we're getting from our fiscal policy team, we need to look closely at some of our expenses of the Government of Guam, and we are putting together a plan to move forward."
He adds the reduction in force program is currently with its legal counsel and the Department of Administration's Human Resources Division and that no one has been laid off at this point. BBMR director John Rios meanwhile says more information is being gathered in order to complete the Fiscal Stabilization and Sustainability Plan.
