Guam - The Guam Police Department is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into last night's bomb threat at the Civil Defense building. While authorities are not releasing too many details, security levels have definitely been heightened on Government House property. It's known to be the place that anyone can call if they have an emergency, but the tables turned for staff in the e-911 center after a reported anonymous call came in that a bomb was in their building.

Guam Fire Department spokesperson Lt. Phil Camacho said, "The 911 call came in at 7:42pm last night stating that there is a bomb set to go off today at the 911 center - the 911 building which is the Civil Defense Building."

The entire call happened within a matter seconds, and that's when things started to stir up. "Once the call was made the caller hang up and our personnel actually followed protocol informing myself, the fire chief, bureau chief and agencies such as GPD and Civil Defense," he said. "Shortly after the call was made, or the threat was made our duty officers were called in to access the area and after they did their assessment the K-9 dogs were called in to do a sweep," added Guam Homeland Security Spokesperson Alyssa Benito.

She said a thorough inspection of the grounds was done after the terroristic threat was made. KUAM News also confirms Governor Eddie Calvo, who just arrived on island last night, had to be rerouted to another location during authorities sweep. "The FBI was called in and GPD is doing their investigation as of now," said Benito.

But around 9:16pm no bomb and nothing suspicious was found. Camacho said, "Fortunately it was a negative finding but as a precaution I believe GPD has to secure up front at the gatehouse." Benito said, "We are always taking due vigilance in making sure our facility is secured and we did close the main entrance of the facility and now the main entrance is 100 percent ID check."

Guam Police were still roaming the grounds today to ensure the safety of those who enter and exit. Camacho adds if a bomb is ever found in the facility they're always ready to pack up and immediately move to their redundant location at the Tamuning Fire Station.

No employees had to be evacuated during the sweep last night, and it's nearly business as usual today. We should note the 911 center has caller id, however due to the ongoing investigation, GPD remains tight lipped about
