GEPA: 13 polluted beaches this week

Five additional beaches added to the Guam Environmental Protection Agency's pollution advisory this week.

Guam – Five additional beaches added to the Guam Environmental Protection Agency's pollution advisory this week. GEPA reports a total of 13 beaches found polluted above the accepted bacteriological standards. These waters include East Hagåtña Bay - Trinchera Beach, Asan Bay Beach, Piti Bay, Santos Memorial Park, Togcha Beach - near Namo River, Togcha Beach - near Southern Christian Academy, Nimitz

Beach, Umatac Bay, Toguan Bay, Inarajan Pool, Talofofo Bay, Ipan Public Beach, and Pago Bay. West Hagatna Bay remains closed due to a fractured outfall at the Hagatna sewage treatment plant. Guam EPA warns that any type of activity in these beaches could result in minor or major illnesses.
