Guam - Guam Power Authority general manager Joaquin Flores spoke before Chamber of Commerce members this afternoon on multi-million dollar projects the agency is developing. A key part of the presentation details how GPA wants to stray away from using solely oil as a source of energy.

He said, "We've selected two contractors, a 20-megawatt solar farm and a nine-and-a-half-megawatt wind farm integrated with a 5-megawatt solar farm, two different proponents."

He adds the proposed renewable energy farms will be set on a 300-acre lot near the Layon landfill. Flores says he is still looking for ways to finance the project.
