Guam - Aviation Concepts, Inc. has agreed to pay a former employee $51,000 for religious discrimination. According to a proposed consent decree that was filed with the District Court, the company and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission have agreed to resolve the complaint that was filed last year.

An employee was fired because he would not raise the American and Guam flags because it was against his religion. In addition to the monetary relief, Aviation Concepts has also agreed to revise its policies and procedures regarding employee rights and employees must attend a training program.

The company must also display a notice to all employees about the lawsuit and the resolution. The consent decree must first be approved by the judge.
