Guam - While liquidated damages aren't being assessed against International Bridge Corporation, the contractor doing the work on Untalan Middle School's new gymnasium is being assessed penalties to the tune of $400 for every day it's not completed. According to DOE facilities and maintenance manager Billy Cruz, Loyal Pacific was supposed to complete the gym by its January 27 deadline.
The Barrigada gym was condemned two years ago after the Department of Public Health cited the school for the gym's rusting beams, which comprised its structural integrity.
