Guam - Attorneys for Dave Davis have filed a motion for class certification as they seek to identify other individuals in the community who have been turned away from registered for the upcoming political status plebiscite. According to the motion, the plaintiffs want a list of the individuals who are or will be registered to vote in Guam elections but are not eligible to vote in the plebiscite because they are not "native inhabitants of Guam."

Davis filed suit after he was denied registration for the plebiscite.  He alleges the election is racially discriminatory.  The plaintiffs want to maintain the class to determine whether the Guam Election Commission and the Government of Guam engaged in unlawful discrimination and whether they should be enjoined from engaging in such discrimination in the future.

The government has moved to dismiss the lawsuit and the trial is still scheduled for April of next year.
