Guam - Village mayors are hoping to jump start a new islandwide cleanup program. Instead of clearing one village and moving on to the next, the new plan calls for cleaning them all at one time.
Sinajana vice mayor Robert Hoffman said, "We're going to give an opportunity to all residents make sure we get everywhere, every road hit every resident get as much as we can because we don't want to do this as a regular yearly thing maybe as an annual thing every several years we want to make sure everyone gets the word out."
According to Hoffman, island mayors are currently reviewing the draft work plan. They estimate the program will cost $550,000 and they're hoping to use money from the Recycling Revolving Fund.
