Guam - Christopher John Gebhart has been indicted for failing to register as a sex offender. Gebhart pleaded guilty to 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, admitting to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at the Guam Memorial Hospital back in 2005. He was sentenced to five years in prison with three years suspended and was released from jail last July, when he was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Gebhart had also been facing aggravated murder charges for the 2009 death of a one-year-old girl who he allegedly shook and assaulted the baby, forcing her to have seizures and go into a coma. The baby later died.
Gebhart, however, was released from jail because prosecutors failed to present evidence of child abuse to substantiate the criminal charges.
